Having been born on new years eve in 1971 I've pretty much had Clue to entertain me all my life, thank goodness for the extensive archives, they'll see me out I'm sure. Here's to many more evenings dashing out from work to sit in a cold car park, I daren't drive due to temporary paralysis from laughing so hard.

I was privileged to see two recordings of 'I'm Sorry...'. It was the funniest programme I have ever heard and I will greatly miss hearing Humph, in that inimitable way of his, telling us about Samantha's latest activities. A towering talent.

Humph was a rare rare talent. Probably a comic genius although far too modest to imagine himself that way. He made me laugh at a difficult time in my life and I will always remember his wit, timing and easy indifference that made him a true great. I was so sad to hear of his death. I doubt there will ever be anyone like him again. My thoughts go to his family who must miss him terribly. Humph I salute you wherever you are.

My husband Bill has just celebrated his 65th birthday. He loved Humph, his music, his humour, his down to earth view of life. Bills special day was filled with Humph playing in the background, he also recieved his book and lots of Sorry I Haven't A Clue CDs as gifts. He is looking forward to reliving the talent and laughs Humph gave, although it is now tinted with the sadness that he no longer with us..............

Humphrey Lyttleton ridiculously funny, with a perfect sense of timing. He will be sadly missed.

A part of me will feel something missing now, especially at 6.30PM on those Monday Evenings, RIP Humph. I'll miss you.

I enjoyed your contribution to commonsense & glee, you were like an esteemed guest to my home whenever I listened to your music or radio programmes, thanks to technology I will continue to enjoy your presence whenever I play one of my Cds. FAREWELL

What a great talent in Humphrey Lyttleton, we so enjoyed ISIHAC - it will never be the same without him. Thank you for all the fun and laughter.

Sadly, I was never lucky enough to get tickets for I'm sorry I haven't a clue. Perhaps I'll never get to know the secrets of Mornington Crescent or the Laser Display Board. I will however, treasure always the voice and humour of a very naturally talented and extremely funny man. Thank God for CD's so that dear Humph can go on living in our hearts and laughter. Humph, thank you so much for the enormous joy and many tears of hysterical laughter. Treasured memories. God bless

No Radio presenter has ever or will ever make me laugh so much. The world is a poorer place. RIP

Hi Recently, i was filmed for the Antiques Roadshow with all of my Humph' memorabilia. It's a massive collection of records, CD's, books, posters and all kinds of oddments, collected over a 25 year period. All of the roadshow people said how much they liked Humph' and gave me VIP treatment on the day. I'm not sure as yet if the filming will be shown this coming Autumn? It was filmed at Leeds Castle, Kent. I hope it is aired, because it was my personal tribute to a great man. ( My harmonica CD with Humph as special guest was on the table also but i didn't plug it ) RIP Humph. You really did change my life. Barry. Westerham, Kent.

I was sorry to hear of The Great Humph's demise - now what will poor little Nelly Trellis do? (Climb up the walls I suppose - stretch or starve as Aunty Bunty would say). Still I suppose they could always plant her in Graham's Garden, if Tim Taylor hadn't Broken her - for God's sake Barry, stop cryering! I know it may not be the appropriate time but is there any chance of getting back that 5 pounds I lent him for a taxi back in '68 - that's 1868 of course?

Tony Sandy, 04/07/2008 12:52

Don't wish to say anything witty or earth shattering; just loved and will miss Humph. Glad I got to see the show live.

Maggie Schofield, 03/07/2008 14:26

A truly unique individual who possessed the ability to cross generations. My warmest thanks for all the joy, laughter and enduring memories. A real privilege.

As a friend of tradtitional jazz, I always valued Sir Humphrey Lyttelton since his early years as perhaps Europe's most important jazz musician in making his music available to jazz friends in many different countries. He was a true gentleman, and he will be missed. Hael Mughrabi
