You will be sadly missed Humph.....I never missed an episode of Clue, may your comic timing continue in Heaven.

Dave London, 27/04/2008 23:42

Many thanks Humph.

Thanks Humph for all the tears I shed (in laughter!!!!) listening to ISIHAC for the joy it gave me.. It's the best therapy there is.... and it's free!!!!!

I would just like to say how privileged I feel to have enjoyed the warm and wonderful personality which Humph shared with us through his musical and radio presence. He had a unique voice as chairman of Clue and the programme ultimately worked because of his impeccable timing and mastery of the medium. His musical talent was a perfect complement to his broadcasting skills. Alongside many others I feel much sorrow at his passing, but a deep gratitude that he had such a long and accomplished career and will remember him with fondness and laughter.

I'll just stop blowing my own trumpet for a moment to blow yours. Thanks, Humph.

Ms.C, 27/04/2008 23:18

His music, his humour, much appreciated and loved for 60 years plus

Humph was such a unique talent, a true one-off. We shall miss him terribly, but he has left us all with such wonderful memories.

Clive And Helen Williams, 27/04/2008 22:55

Thanks to Humph for many hours of laughter on 'I'm sorry', and for his many other contributions to our aural pleasures. I'll miss him and will wait, possibly in vain, for his like to come again.

Eric Nash, 27/04/2008 22:54

Humph, you are a National Treasure. Unmissable, unrepeatable, unduplicatable, unforgettable, and, if I were Ian P, I could come up with many more. Enough for me to say, you have been one of the brightest threads running through the tapestry of my life. Delighted to have made your acquaintance dear man, and thanks for all the wonderful memories.

Gennie Stone, 27/04/2008 22:34

I chuckle every time I hear his name. ISIHAC has been a constant in my adult life -laughs guaranteed, even when I didn't quite understand it. All the better.

Frances Bell, 27/04/2008 22:34

Humph, you caused my father's only car accident - he was laughing so much at I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue that he completely lost control in the rush hour while driving home one night. We miss you.

Ruth, 27/04/2008 22:29

Humph's voice and wit brought many many hours of laughter. Six thirty, Radio Four on a Monday is never going to be quite the same. Thanks for all the laughs.

HIGHFY - a great show - a great man - RIP Humph

Neville Coles, 27/04/2008 22:18

May I post my deepest sympathy to the family. This man gave me THE best laughs of my whole life, through his Sorry I haven't a clue programme. He will be very sadly missed by myself and I am certain millions of others. I only wish I had had the opportunity to thank him personally whilst he was alive. His wit, his timing, his inuendo was the best I have ever witnessed. May you Rest In Peace Humph. Dave Chevlin 58. Dorset.

We will miss you Humph, thank you for all the wonderful music and for being there. Jacqui Nic and Bethany

I feel quite saddened by Humph's death. I've never really been so affected by the death of a person I only know through the radio and other media, but Humph's humanity and gentle but no-holds-barred humour not only made me laugh, but also seemed somehow quite profound.

Nick Smart, 27/04/2008 22:10

Goodbye Humph - you were the same age as my Dad - and the only other person I have known with the same "sillieness" factor. I have enjoyed ISIHAC for as long as it has been running and will now mourn you and it's passing. Dad died 3 years ago and now you have gone. I hope you meet him wherever it is that good souls go and enjoy eternity together.

Brenda Dent, 27/04/2008 22:07

One of the true greats has passed on - will be sadly missed by many. A true idol of mine.
